Until just a moment ago, I thought my fabulous day out as Susan was coming to an end, and we would be making our way home. Its really quite amazing how much more confident I was now feeling after my faltering start and fears of leaving home, but being a long way from home reasonably assured of not meeting someone we knew allowed me to relax more than I would have ever believed. Coupled with the fact that I had spoken to a postmaster for directions, browsed around the pottery shop, dined in the restaurant and asked for the bill. And also spent a penny in the Ladies toilets. All without any noticeable recognition or comment. I was beginning to realise that I actually could pass, It was a lovely warm feeling, although I am sure that because I was with Jane we were simply recognised as two middle aged ladies shopping together. Had I been alone all the time it may have been a little different.
Back at the car I took the passenger seat slipping in with knees and ankles together .We belted up and I gave Jane a gentle kiss thanking her so much for this day out. For the very first time I had actually felt feminine not only from my dress and make up my perfume and heels, but actually felt feminine from within, very difficult to explain in words, but a very true and satisfying feeling that I had not previously experienced. I knew I had a smile on my face, but also felt as though my whole persona was smiling and fulfilled.
We chatted and laughed on the journey to Nottingham, and arrived in what seemed minutes. Jane had already booked an appointment with Hudson’s wigmakers on Friar Lane Nottingham,We left the car and had to walk several hundred yards into the city center. I never even thought much about it just clip clopped on my heels alongside Jane. We came to the offices where Hudson’s were, and entered the building They are on the second floor and we had to catch a lift. Getting in we were joined by several others, and I was aware that nobody gave me as much as a second glance. We alighted the lift and saw the plaque on the door. Jane entered and I followed once again a little apprehensive. We were led to a reception room where we were to wait until called. There were two other ladies in the waiting room, and I was wondering what to expect. My name was called out. Susan Stewart. Jane had asked them to change my booking name. It was thrilling to be referred to as Susan in public for the very first time. The lady who called me asked us to follow her into a studio with a comfy chair in front of a mirror where I was seated. She introduced herself, and made me aware that she knew why I was there, and that they had lots of similar customers with needs such as mine. She told me she thought I looked very feminine, and she would be able to offer me her expertise and advice without any prejudice whatsoever. She was really quite lovely, and made me feel totally relaxed even after she removed my current wig.
She went through the many options I had, and advised me to consider a human hair wig, as they are the most realistic, and hard wearing having understood that it would be worn most days of the week. Then it was down to colours and style. Jane had already decided I would probably suit a medium Bob, and several similar styles were fitted for me to decide. It was such fun, and we all settled on a straight fringed shoulder length Bob style. The colour of the one we liked was Brunette too, and although we tried several other shades including a blonde which Jane loved and thought suited me. I decided on the Brunette one. The lady combed it out and fitted it for me, and it really did look great. I decided to keep it on. It was fabulous. My old wig looked quite tatty next to it. After a little advice on its care and buying a new wig stand and shampoo and conditioner, we paid and made our way out. Jane asked if I was up to a little shopping in town, and I felt quite confident so agreed. It was lovely walking along the city center with loads of passersby and passing. We went into Marks and Spencers Jane’s favourite shop at the time. We browsed and browsed, and ended up in the lingerie department where Jane bought herself some new panties. We left and strolled around the Victoria shopping center, and Jane stopped at Goldsmiths. Come on its time you had your ears pierced she said. I followed her in, and she asked if they could do it for me there and then, The shop was empty other than us, and they said yes and asked me to sit down. I had to fill in a medical form, and then chose the studs I wanted. I filled my name as Susan Stewart. Chose small gold studs and had to decide exactly where I wanted the piercings. Both ears were marked with black dots where I and Jane thought they should go, and then the lady placed the gun against each ear in turn and fired them in. It was a little sharp, but bearable. I still have the copy of my agreement and medical assurance to this day. I keep all my ‘girly’ receipts as mementoes. Admiring my studs in a mirror. Jane paid, and we left. Totally fulfilled with all that happened that day. My calves aching from all the walking in the heels. My ear lobes throbbing after the piercings. It had been the most exciting and rewarding day of my life. I was aching and sore on that walk back to the car, but the thrill of being dressed as Susan, the tugging of my stocking tops the jiggle of my breasts, the clippety clip of my heels, the new caress on my cheeks of my new wig, and the heady scents of my perfume made every second worthwhile. It was the most exciting day of my life and I revelled in it.
Thanks so much Jane
Love you forever
